The Flying Saucer

The one place which I think, is comparable to the much hyped DLF Cyberhub of Gurgaon is The Epicuria Mall , Nehru Place Metro Station…………Full of chic restaurants and awesome food court……….The Best and the most happening place at this mall , nowadays is The Flying Saucer Café…..from our very own Priyank Sukhija , yes again him…..Lolzz……. This place is an absolute delight no matter what time of the day you go. Big place with enormous space, both indoors as well outdoors. One of the most beautiful settings, I have seen in Delhi. The ambience is very good. Music is great with the famous Sufi nights on Wednesday and Friday. Must get there in time or book in advance to get a table for sure. Weekends are also are great here, with huge crowds. They have valet parking service available and good security checks for maintaining the decency of the place.

I was there on a Friday with friends, and to my surprise , the place was full of people…..Lovely crowd in the best of fashion………..Thank God , we booked a table in advance. Many people were standing outside to get in, but the place was fully booked. Flying Saucer Café is very popular amongst the young crowds of Delhi/NCR. The percussionist, who plays on Fridays, is awesome. Food was very good. Some of the things like the Dimsums, Grilled sole fish, Caesar salad, Pork chops, dahi kebab and yes the mushroom galauti kebab were awesome. We tried some cocktails like Cosmopolitan, Mojito, Caipiriojkas with blood orange and they were very well made. The Hookah was very good too.
The service and staff are really fast and quick. And yes they are very hospitable and courteous. Managing such big crowds is not as simple as it seems. Hats off to the management and the owners for running it so efficiently.

Cafe Xtasi & Bratwurst King food review

Got a chance, to meet this friend duo Manav Achal and Kunwar at the “The Gourmet High Street” festival in December last year. They had put up their stalls to promote and sell their lovely pizzas and hotdogs. Yes I am talking about Cafe Xtasi and Bratwurst King.
Now, they have opened up at DLF Galleria as a combo outlet selling both Hotdogs and Pizzas together. We went to try their creations again and were really impressed by the interior. Not a very big place but yes a nice and cozy hideout with interesting signages and pieces on walls. Very neatly done place.......

We tried their Formagi Pizza which is a 4 cheese pizza, Pepperoni pizza and the Meat madness which has ham, bacon, chicken, olives and much more. Oh My God what lovely flavors of wood....Yes they have a wood fired oven that makes it more special. That’s the reason they are at the number 1 spot on Zomato for Pondicherry (First outlet is in Pondicherry). I bet you would not have had a better thin crust pizza anywhere in Delhi/ Ncr.

We loved the chicken steak done with homemade Pesto as well as with the BBQ sauce. The steaks were done and presented so nicely, it felt as if I am having them in a fine dine sophisticated place.

And yes, we also tried the Hotdogs of Bratwurst King. They are serving authentic German sausages( all imported) .The Currywurst meal which they serve is a combo of a big hotdog plus a bowl of German potato salad. You can choose your bread, sausage, toppings (either 1 or all at no extra charges) and sauces too. The pork sausage (don't remember the exact name) with awesome sweet caramelized onions and bbq sauce was awesome. You can't have just one.

All in all a very good place to enjoy both Italy as well as Germany on the same platter....Very good quality product at smart pricing......Cheers to the Team Cafe Xtasi and Bratwurst King run by Manav Achal and Kunwar Ranbir Juneja.

Keep it up guys......

Cheers

Bulldogs food review

What comes to mind when you name a restaurant “Bulldogs” It’s not a regular name for a restaurant in Hauz Khas Village, Delhi. Yes, the makers really thought of an innovative name I must say. The impulse reaction is that it has something to do with hotdogs.
They have ample space and the place is spread over three floors with different styles of seating. Bed Style Lounge, Sofa Style Lounge and Casual dining with Open Terrace, Vibrant décor, good music, Big Screen, everything you need to have a good time. You say it and you have it here.
It provides the much needed stimulation and excitement for everyone and every mood.
It’s an ideal place for both hanging out with friends and enjoying nightlife with great amount of space and lovely music.

The selection of hot dogs from Big Bad Dog to Bite Sizes from 22” to 5” can delight you illimitably.
Well it’s not only that, they also have started an innovative concept of the bar meter, a drink exchange like the stock exchange. There are TV sets installed on all three floors which show live prices of liquor served, fluctuating every minute. The catch is you can buy in multiples once the price goes down for any specific liquor. And also, twice a day the market or the liquor exchange as they call it, crashes. So, all the prices come down to rock bottom, when one can buy more.

It’s something of a rage already in Hauz Khaz Village with youngsters coming in herds.
As they are serving world cuisine, so keeping high standards and maintaining taste is a little difficult in all spheres but yes overall it’s ok...There is a lot of variety in food but the drinks really need to be worked upon....

In starters we had Greek Salad which was good, Macaroni Pasta Salad was okay, Stuffed Cheese Mushroom was well done, Fish Sticks were crispy along with tartar sauce, and dahi kebab was delicious.

We tried the Shot dogs ( 5’ in size) - Veg Seekh, bacon and pork sausage and Mutton Seekh served with Coleslaw and French fries along with Margarita Pizza. We also tried Fajita Sizzler with Cottage cheese, grilled and served with corn, tortillas, salsa n sour cream with Dips-Tzatziki, hummus, along with pita bread was good to taste and well done. Desserts variety was good. We tried the Apple pie with Vanilla Ice crème which was really very good and Choco lava cake was good....

Overall, as per us, they should try and improvise the Drinks and some parts of the menu should also be taken care of...... All in all a very Hip-Hop Happening place for the youth to have fun. .... Cheers !!!
